Well, you know it’s going to be Christmas soon when…well, usually when it’s Boxing Day. Seems to go on forever doesn’t it! However, in the real world (that’s Bridgwater) Christmas starts on 27th November with the annual Snowflakes and Shopping event. At exactly the time when the Mayor turns on the Christmas Lights.
This year the ‘big turn on’ (not a phrase usually associated with Town Councillors) will be at 6pm on Friday 27th November.
On that date the Town Centre will be awash with street entertainment from 4pm to 8pm, a Christmas market and extended shopping until 8pm. Father Christmas will arrive on a Christmas Carnival Cart and and there will be squibbing on the Town Bridge at 7pm.
Westover Annual Xmas Get Together
And of course the other event everyone will be waiting to put into their diaries will be the Annual Westover review of the year. That’s where councillors and residents get together for a friendly Christmas loo back over the years events.
This year (well, as every other year) it will be in the Bridgwater Arts Centre at 7.30 and the date will be Thursday 10th December.
Everyone is welcome to attend and the evening will take the format of a powerpoint presentation highlighting the main things that happened month by month with anyone who wants raising anything they like about anything they wish. That’ll work.
